Bobette's takes first in chowder Bobette's Takeout took first place for their Mussel Chowder and third place for New England Clam Chowder during the senior Wish Society's Second Annual Chowder Fest recently. Haven Healthcare Milford North placed second for their classic chowder. Stonebridge, Amberjacks, Milford Health Care, Haven Healthcare, Milford North and South, Laurel Gardens of Milford and Orange, and Harborside Restaurant, along with Bobette's Takeout, participated in the fund raising event that took place at Laurel Gardens of Milford. Judges were Gary Johnson, United Way of Milford director, Kathy Alagno, president Milford Chamber of Commerce. Alan Jepson, city cleerk of Milford and Alan Lynn, nutrition services director at Milford Hospital. The Senior Wish Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization deddicated to assisting needy, eligible senior citizens to meet their various personal and medical needs. Several fund raising events, including the popular Pamper Me Night, provide the finances needed for this cause.
